The 52nd Ordinary Meeting of the Committee of Experts of APPA was held in Cotonou, Republic of Benin, from the 10th to 13th October 2016.
Prior to this meeting, was held in Cotonou from 3rd to 6th October 2016, the 2nd consultative meeting between APPA and FICHTNER on the study on evaluation of organs, supervisory bodies and others structures of APPA and the reform of the Association.
Ten (10) Member Countries were present, namely: Algeria,Angola,Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire,Gabon, Niger andNigeria.
Eight (08) Member Countries were not represented:Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana,Libya,Mauritania, South Africaand Sudan.
The opening ceremony of the 52nd Ordinary Meeting of the Committee of Experts of APPA was chaired by Mr. Franck TIGRI, Deputy Director of Cabinet, representing the Minister of Energy, Water and Mines of the Republic of Benin. He recalled the main items on the agenda and urged the Experts to work objectively in the interest of the Association and to propose pertinent recommendations to the Council of Ministers in a global context marked by the very low level of crude oil prices.

The Committee of Experts recommended to the APPA Presidentto make a supporting statement for the initiative taken by OPEC during its extraordinary meeting in Algeria of September 28, 2016 to reduce oil production in view to improve the price of crude oil in the global market.
